Kmoose on old forum had a nice mod on his sceptre where he moved the bulkhead back . Not sure if he has rejoined here.

i chose a slightly different path of replacing the windshield with a cowling. Went with a hermco bracket as boat was originally I/0. Worked well for me as the weight added forward balanced out with bracket heavy engine aft.

i dont think raising the deck is needed like on tbe 20’s unless going with unusually heavy power which could come with a lot of other things to work out. Would reroute scuppers out the side or back just to get rid of the potential issues with the through bottom originals. Not sure newer models have these.i went out the transom.

Personally would go with a fiberglass bracket if that route is chosen mainly for not having to worry with paint / corrosion issues with aluminum brackets, Stoner and a new company recently posted seem to be option. Unfortunately like everyr
thing else, prices are going up so maybe harder to make that commitment. Price, floatation volume and construction would all be details to dig into as well as planning for trim tabs etc.

One of rhe reasons I went with a sceptre as you could get hulls cheap as they are not as popular, and with a bracket, the cockpit is huge for a 23 boat, and have dry storage space for in between use ( rods) tackle, tools, safety, etc.

Assume you have scoped a sceptre for sale?

I was lurking around the old website for a long time because in California you don’t come across alot of Seacrafts. I’ve had the 20 for awhile. So by snooping around I came across the member with a scepter 23 called handful it may even be the members name. It is built into a pilothouse. I fell in love with that boat. So I was out in North Carolina visiting my sister and came across a sceptre. Ended up buying it and had it shipped to California with the intention of building a pilothouse. I was finally going to pm the guy and get some details and the website was down.. new website and I’m not sure if he is back online… funny thing is according to his boat he lives in the same city as my sister ( small world ).. anyway I will be doing a pilothouse on mine and I’m not sure if you thought about that with yours but it’s a cool option.

After an extended absence (years) from this forum, I recently “rejoined” and today came across a reference to my Sceptre with pilothouse. What an incredible coincidence, as this morning it was posted “for sale”.

The thread for all the work done to the boat is quite extensive and covers a lot of ground. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could tell me how to access that thread in the old forum.

I don't think the Mods have transferred the old data so it's not viewable.
